Why a regular check-up matters
Cavities, gum disease and oral cancers are nearly always easier — and cheaper — to treat early. A six-monthly visit lets us catch tiny problems before they need root canals, crowns or extractions. We recommend most patients see us every six months, though those at higher risk may benefit from more frequent visits.
What's included in your visit
The exam
- A chat about your health history and any concerns
- Examination of teeth, gums and the whole mouth
- Screening for decay, gum disease and oral cancer
- Digital X-rays where needed to spot hidden decay, cysts or bone loss
- Review of existing fillings, crowns and other restorations
The clean
- Professional scaling to remove plaque and tartar above and below the gum line
- Polishing to lift surface stains
- Fluoride application to strengthen enamel
- AIRFLOW® cleaning available — gentler and more thorough than traditional scaling
What it costs
With private health insurance, a comprehensive check-up and clean is no gap for new patients (your fund covers the full visit, processed on the spot via HICAPS). Without insurance, it's a flat $199. School-aged children pay $99 during school holidays, and many kids are eligible for bulk-billed care under Medicare CDBS.
